You have baking skills and would like to put them to the test? Alliance Française Christchurch is looking for our city’s best Tarte Tatin (French upside-down apple tart) to celebrate Autumn!

Simply enrol by 5pm on Friday 30th April and bring your best creation, classic or with a twist by 10am on Saturday 1st May to be in to win an invitation to breakfast at the French Residence and a cooking class at Cordon Bleu New Zealand with Chef Francis Motta.


AMAZING First Prize:

A culinary journey in Wellington for one person (the winner) on Friday 21st May 2021 including:

- Breakfast at the French Residence

- A hands-on cooking class at Cordon Bleu New Zealand: preparation of a traditional French dish with Chef Francis Motta

- A two-course lunch: the dish prepared during the class matched with a French wine and a dessert

T&Cs: This competition is open to those aged 18 and over. Only one entry per person. The winner will be announced on 3rd May. The prize is provided to the winner only and it cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. The date, 21st May 2021, cannot be changed (subject to COVID-19 alert levels). A shuttle service will transfer the winner from the French Residence to Cordon Bleu New Zealand. By entering the competition, entrants consent to the use of their personal information by the Alliance Française for publicity and promotional purposes.

And bring your creation to the Alliance Française by 10am on Saturday 1st May for judging.

The tartes will be judged at 10.30am.  You are welcome to stay and watch the judging process.

There will be an opportunity to taste and vote for a ‘People’s Favourite’ after the judging has finished.
