As the official centre for French language and culture, we take teaching seriously. Our teachers are all native French speaker & highly qualified university graduates. We make sure to only hire candidates who hold Masters in Teaching French as a Foreign Language or Masters in Languages. Our staff also receives regular onsite training and follows up-to-date methods.

The Alliance is the only accredited place in Christchurch to pass the DELF/DALF and DAEFLE diplomas. Alliance Française Christchurch is also the official Exam Centre in Christchurch. Our premises can be hired to host official examinations and we can also provide someone to supervise the exam if needed. Whether it is for international studies, immigration, work or just for your personal achievement, the Alliance Française Christchurch is where you need to come to have your level of French officially recognised!
A fantastic and fun environment to learn French. These guys offer so many fabulous ways to immerse oneself in the language from yoga to dance to drama and naturally traditional evening and day classes. Their little library has a wealth of literary treasures and they also have a splendid dvd collection. There is also many opportunities to try French cuisine and wines and their croissant morning breakfasts every month bring a charming group of Francophiles together. A great place to give kids a head start in language acquisition too with very lovely and caring teaching staff who are passionate about what they do. Proud partners of the French Film Festival too :)
