Throughout this course, you will learn how to :
• Master self-introductions: age, occupation, origin, country of residence, languages spoken
• Prompt others for self-introductions (exchange contact information and asking questions)
• Introduce your family and comprehend a family tree
• Express preferences and dislikes, agreements and disagreements

Main Grammar topics: Negative sentences, definite and indefinite articles, possessive articles, question words, rules for adjectives: gender and number, gender of countries, nationalities and cities and prepositions, present tense, special verbs: être, avoir, aller, venir, aimer.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to : 

•        Express and gather details about accommodations (housing, renting, etc.)
•        Describe interior design, space and furniture
•        Discuss daily routines and habits
•        Inquire about and provide the time, the date and duration.

Il y a / Il n’y a pas, c’est + adjective, colors, gender and number of French adjectives,  verbs : pouvoir, sortir, dormir, prendre and devoir, Il faut + infinitif, reflexive verbs, adverbs of frequency.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to :

•             Introduce a book/TV show/movie
•             Give an opinion about a piece of art
•             Plan and  relate a trip
•             Describe a landscape 

Main Grammar topics:

Past tense (l’imparfait), temporal prepositions, the different negatives (restrective negation), adverbs ending in "-ment", use the passé composé and imparfait together, adverbial pronouns "y" and "en", gerunds form to express simultaneous actions, adjectives placement and order.

•             Express your interest and your opinion (agreement and disagreement)
•             Formulate hypotheses
•             Talk about the origins and influences of a language
•             Talk about your relationship to languages and language learning

Stressed pronouns, time markers, compound relative pronouns ("auquel", "lequel", ...), verbs of opinion with indicative or subjunctive, indefinite pronouns ("certains", "plusieurs", "quelques"), “si” to express hypothesis

• Report a speech accurately
• Discuss the media and information and influence of advertising
• Debate on public health

Main Grammar topics: Past and present subjunctive, the pasive form, reported speech in past tense.

Broaden your knowledge of the structure and use of French language at the Advanced B2 level while speaking with a degree of fluency.

In this level, you will learn to express your opinion and debate about a wider range of topics, to use and understand complex vocabulary, based on authentic documents drawn from French media.

Pace: Standard Course - 2 hours / week over 10 weeks

Sur la base de documents authentiques, de fragments de textes, d'extraits audio et vidéo, vous travaillez à l'enrichissement du vocabulaire et à l'amélioration de l'expression orale. Une place est également laissée à l'apport des étudiants eux-mêmes. Les enseignant.e.s identifient les centres d'intérêt des participant.e.s et préparent les cours en conséquence.

Improve your spoken French through discussions on French culture and contemporary issues as presented in authentic articles and videos from the French press.  To attend a conversation course, you must have minimal expression (level C1.1 of the European reference framework) in French. The teachers identify the areas of interest of the participants and prepare the lessons accordingly.

To attend a conversation course, you must have minimal expression (level B1.1 of the European reference framework) in French. The teachers identify the areas of interest of the participants and prepare the lessons accordingly.
