❄️ Meeting with polar explorer Jean-Louis Étienne 🛥️

❄️ Jean-Louis Étienne, renowned French doctor, explorer, adventurer, scientist, environmentalist - and the first person to reach the North Pole solo in 1986! - will be coming to Christchurch in January. He will be en route to the Ross Sea aboard his research vessel, the Perseverance, for a 3-year scientific expedition studying Antarctic waters.

The vessel is expected to be in Lyttelton on 10–20 January, and Alliance Française, in partnership with FAST! and Blue Cradle, will host him on 17 January, 6pm at a venue yet to be confirmed (most likely at Alliance Française, tbc depending on numbers registered).

We are also hoping to organise a visit on the research vessel over the same week-end (either Saturday or Sunday - day time) 🛥️
