A1 Beginners

Throughout this course, you will learn how to :
• Master self-introductions: age, occupation, origin, country of residence, languages spoken
• Prompt others for self-introductions (exchange contact information and asking questions)
• Introduce your family and comprehend a family tree
• Express preferences and dislikes, agreements and disagreements

Main Grammar topics: Negative sentences, definite and indefinite articles, possessive articles, question words, rules for adjectives: gender and number, gender of countries, nationalities and cities and prepositions, present tense, special verbs: être, avoir, aller, venir, aimer.

Pace: Standard Course - 2 hours/ week over 11 weeks (2 public holidays on 27 April and 1 June --> make up sessions on Monday 13 April et Monday 6 July)

  •        Describe interior design, space and furniture

  •        Inquire about and provide the time, the date and duration.

Main Grammar topics:

Il y a / Il n’y a pasc’est + adjective, colors, gender and number of French adjectives,  verbs : pouvoir, sortir, dormir, prendre and devoir, Il faut + infinitif, reflexive verbs, adverbs of frequency.

Main Grammar topics:

Relative pronouns qui, que and où, comparatives and superlatives, demonstrative pronouns, past tense (passé composé : negation, auxiliaries, irregularities) (rappel), interrogative form, indirect object pronouns (me, te, lu i, nous, vous, leur)

Main Grammar topics:

The pronoun "en", expression of progression, cause, consequence and purpose, interrogative pronouns "lequel", "laquelle", etc., imperative pronominal verbs and pronoun object with imperatives, the simple future tense (the will-future tense in French), the different negatives, the conditional tense (conditionnel présent).
