Afterschool classes and workshops for teens

The Alliance Française Christchurch has a range of courses dedicated to 13-18 year-old students who study French at school and wish to BOOST their learning in order to achieve BETTER RESULTS.

What makes the high school students’ courses at Alliance a real advantage?

  • They are COMPLEMENTARY to the school curriculum: new activities and documents will be used to practice and build on the skills and themes learnt at school.
  • Students will benefit from COMPLETE IMMERSION in the francophone and francophile environment at the Alliance Française.
  • They use AUTHENTIC CLASS MATERIAL, from French TV, magazines, and movies, carefully chosen and adapted by our educational team.
  • They are FUN! Less formal exercises and homework, more interaction and real life situations.

Le Petit Lycée Group Class (Advanced)

A course specifically designed for teens who have a strong background in French obtained from an extended stay in a Francophone country or French-speaking relatives.

The course is based on the French school curriculum and adapted to the students' level and needs. Please note that we may have different levels in the classes. Through interactive and fun activities, the course aims to develop writing and reading skills in French.


Pace: Afterschool AFC 1.5 hour/week
Teenagers A0 Beginners

Collective Classes Teenagers
This is a class for beginners or near-beginners in French, please contact us if you are unsure of your child's level.
Pace: Standard Course – 1 hour / week over 10 weeks

Children Group Class: Les Juniors (Beginners Intermediate level)
